Geoffrey B. Treece

Bankruptcy, Debtor and Creditor Rights, Commercial Litigation, Real Estate

Mr. Treece’s practice consists of a variety of commercial litigation, with an emphasis on bankruptcy and debtor/creditor rights. He has represented individuals, financial institutions, and businesses in virtually every kind of bankruptcy matter for both debtors and creditors. While maintaining a significant debtor practice, Mr. Treece has focused on the representation of businesses in Chapter 11 and out-of-court workouts, including entities involved in the operation of hotels, trucking, apartment complexes, and retail stores. Since joining Quattlebaum, Grooms, Tull & Burrow PLLC, his practice has included more creditor work, primarily for banking institutions.

Mr. Treece also has litigation experience in bankruptcy matters, including prosecuting and defending matters related to discharge and dischargeability, avoidable transfers, plan confirmation and claims allowance.

In addition to his bankruptcy practice, Mr. Treece also has a substantial foreclosure and collection practice for banking institutions in state court. He has also recently been active in the defense of a large lender liability suit in state court.

Mr. Treece has represented numerous clients in a variety of real estate transactions and in land use and planning matters before municipal commissions and boards. He also has represented clients in various types of real estate and land use litigation.

Mr. Treece has been a seminar speaker to numerous groups, including attorneys, bankers, and bank examiners regarding topics arising in bankruptcy, debtor/creditor rights, secured transactions, and real estate. He was named as one of the best bankruptcy attorneys in Arkansas by the Arkansas Times in 2000 and 2002.

Mr. Treece is licensed to practice law in the States of Arkansas and Missouri and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
