Ms. Hyneman is an associate in the firm’s Northeast Arkansas office. Her practice areas include complex business litigation, tort liability, and employee benefits litigation. She has worked on a range of matters including contractual disputes, commercial disputes, bankruptcy, transportation law, OSHA regulations, products liability, media law, defamation, ERISA, and insurance disputes.
She has substantial experience in litigating ERISA benefit denial cases, including health, life and disability cases. She assisted as regional outside counsel for a prominent national insurance company in federal courts in the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Circuits. She has also been successful litigating ERISA benefit denial cases, winning numerous judgments on the administrative record, as well as successfully assisting in mediating and settling ERISA benefit denial cases. She has also assisted on appeals in the Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Circuit Courts of Appeal.
Ms. Hyneman has provided pre-publication advice to media entities and has assisted in defending a national media entity in a defamation claim, winning summary judgment. She has also assisted in editing the Survey of Tennessee Libel Law section of the Media Law Resource Center for annual publication.
At Lyon College, Ms. Hyneman received the Politics Book Award, given to the top graduate in the Politics Major. She also served on a Law and Ethics Research Committee for the Arkansas Ethics Commission. Ms. Hyneman participated in the Nichols Travel Study Program at Lyon College, studying in Rome, Italy in May 1997.
While at the University of Arkansas School of Law, Ms. Hyneman served as a member of the Arkansas Law Review. She also served as an intern for the Honorable Jimm Larry Hendren, Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas during Spring 2000.
Ms. Hyneman is licensed to practice law in the States of Arkansas and Tennessee, in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of Tennessee. She is also licensed to practice law in the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Arkansas.
Ms. Hyneman practices primarily from the firm’s office in Jonesboro, Arkansas, but also maintains an office at the firm’s Little Rock location.
